Ultra Mirage El Djerid is the first 100 km Ultra Trail International in a single stage to be held in Tozeur on 7 October 2017. At the outset, sixty top riders on a wide range of terrain: sand, erg , dunes, rocky hills, river beds, canyons and finally the largest salt lake in the Sahara desert: the Chott El Djerid.
Ultra Miracle el Djerid was awarded the approval of the two most powerful international organizations: ITRA (International Trail Running Association) and UTMB® (Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc), which certified the route of the race and awarded him the qualification of 4 Points on the international scales.
The 60 or so pioneer riders of this first edition come from around the world, almost twelve nationalities already registered; they will have less than 20 hours to complete the race with very specific deadlines to reach each of the 5 checkpoints that are between 15 and 20 km. The top start will take place on 7 October 2017 at 7am, on the site of Ong Jmel in Nefta, Tozeur and the last riders must reach the finish line before midnight to be finalists. A prize-giving ceremony will take place on Sunday 8 October 2017 in Tozeur and will reward the top 3 riders and congratulate all those who have crossed the finish line. Ultra Mirage el Djerid is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and by the Tunisian Federation of Athletics.
The circuit of the 100km has been certified by 4 ITRA POINTS (on a scale of 6 points), thus inscribing it among the most popular courses in the world. The participation of the race is qualifying for the famous Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc with 4 points UTMB. This international recognition is an asset to Ultra Mirage el Djerid as it attracts renowned athletes in the Ultra Trail field and will help recruit a new typology of visitors to the Djerid region , while allowing a new dynamic to emerge among the Tunisian runners.

Ultra Mirage has the ambition 202 to anchor Tunisia on the map of Ultra-Trail World Tour, an organization that gathers the biggest Ultra Trail races in the world, to promote the Djerid region and to help promote and to professionalize a new generation of Tunisian super riders who will be able to participate in international competitions.
